--After putting DE Charles Grant on injured reserve with a triceps injury, the Saints re-signed 13-year veteran DT Hollis Thomas.
Oddly enough, Thomas suffered the same injury when he tore his right triceps during a pass blocking drill against the Houston Texans on Aug. 13. He underwent surgery the next day and received an injury settlement from the Saints after the first regular-season game.
By reaching a settlement with Thomas, it allowed the Saints to re-sign him rather than put him on injured reserve -- which would have sidelined him for the entire season.
Agent Michael Bauer told the New Orleans Times-Picayune that Thomas, a solid run defender, received interest from other teams but "wanted to go back to where he was comfortable."
--Two Saints who have been released in recent weeks have caught on with other teams.
P Steve Weatherford, who was released after a game with the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 19, was claimed by the Kansas City Chiefs. He has handled the punting duties for the last two games.
Also, WR Terrance Copper was signed by the Baltimore Ravens. Copper was released by the Saints, then re-signed and released again on Oct. 25 when G Jamar Nesbit came off a four-game NFL suspension.
