New Orleans Saints Notes, Quotes 2008-10-29
--OG Jamar Nesbit, who served a four-game suspension earlier this season after testing positive for Bumetanide, has filed a lawsuit against the maker of StarCaps, his attorney said. In the case, which was filed in a New Jersey federal district court, Nesbit hopes to recover more than $235,000 in salary that he lost due to his suspension.

--Saints running back Deuce McAllister said he knew last week that he was being investigated for a violation of the NFL's steroids policy, but insisted he's done everything right during his eight seasons in the league.

A report out of Denver last week said McAllister and Saints defensive end Will Smith were among a large group of NFL players who tested positive for a weight-loss diuretic that can be used as a masking agent for steroids.

The New Orleans Times-Picayune later identified a third Saints player, defensive end Charles Grant, as being part of the probe. Saints coach Sean Payton refused to comment on the report, saying it was a league matter.

McAllister insisted he's done "everything that we were asked to do" to follow the league's drug policy, but stopped short of admitting he tested positive. He said he hopes fans don't think he tried to cheat.

"You hate to put yourself in a situation like this because you not only play by the rules -- not only these eight years I've been here in the league -- but four years of college and four years of high school," he said. "You always want to play by the rules, and that's what we've tried to do. We have done everything that we were asked to do, that the league has asked us to do. I mean, that's what we've done."

--McAllister scored on a 1-yard run, the 51st of his career, in the second quarter of Sunday's 37-32 win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.

The touchdown moved him past Joe Horn and into second place on the club's all-time list. McAllister and Horn had been tied for second since McAllister scored on a 1-yard plunge against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 28.

McAllister has 46 rushing scores, four receiving touchdowns and one on a fumble and is now just three TDs away from becoming the team's all-time leader. Former running back Dalton Hilliard had 53 from 1986 to 1993.

With 306 points, McAllister is now tied with Horn for second place behind Hilliard's 318 points among non-kickers in Saints' history.

--Saints coach Sean Payton praised the people in London that went above and beyond the call of duty to make his team's stay there a successful one.

"I think the people over here have been great, and our experience has been great," Payton said. "It has been an outstanding experience. The (Wembley Stadium) atmosphere was great, and the fans were loud and unbelievable. What a great venue, we were proud to be a part of it."

--Rebecca Edlington, a British swimmer who won two gold medals at the Beijing Olympic Games, was an honorary captain for Sunday's game. She wore jersey No. 2 when the Saints won the coin toss.
