When the NFL began selling tickets to the October 26th Chargers/Saints game in London, it sent Reggie Bush across the Atlantic to promote the American version of football.
But there’s just one problem: Bush won’t be playing in the game. And he reportedly won’t even be making the trip to London with his teammates. Bush hurt his knee today, and the early indications are that he’ll miss four to six weeks. And so he’ll be stuck at home, getting treatment and rehabbing, rather than playing at Wembley Stadium.
That’s bad news for the Saints, as Bush is having a good year as a receiver and punt returner. And it’s worse news for the NFL, which desperately wants to expand its fanbase overseas and thought Bush was just the kind of exciting player to help it do so. And, of course, it’s bad news for British fans who bought those expensive NFL tickets because they wanted to see Reggie Bush.
